Sylvanus (Van) Arnold Zimmerman IV, DVM, of Walnutport, PA, passed away at home on December 3, 2025. He was born on October 13, 1944, in Newton, NJ.
Van was a longtime resident of Tewkesbury, NJ, and the owner and veterinarian of the Bedminster Animal Hospital in Far Hills, NJ.
He attended the Pingry School and graduated from Blair Academy in Blairstown, NJ. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Turin in Turin, Italy.
Van is survived by his wife, Carolyn Slough Zimmerman, VMD; his son, Sylvanus Arnold Zimmerman V, of Cheyenne, WY; his brother, Todd K. Zimmerman, of Northford, CT; and his sister, Sally M. Zimmerman, of Sonoma, CA.
Private family services will be held.
