Sylvia Jean Jackson Brafford, born on August 15, 1939, in West Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, in Lynchburg. She was a remarkable woman whose life was characterized by her strong faith, deep love for family, and fondness for family gatherings.
Sylvia's passion for life was evident in her many hobbies and interests, including gardening, canning, cooking, and sewing. She took great joy in nurturing her beautiful garden, creating delicious meals for her loved ones, and crafting items with care and attention. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter, and she cherished every moment spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved children, Brinda Hall, Harry Wolfe, Jr., Bruce Wolfe, Vernon Wolfe and wife, Susan, Harvey Wolfe and wife, Sally, Ivan Wolfe and wife, Shelia, and Tim Rexrode, her son-in-law. Sylvia was also a cherished sister to Janice Sarver and was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought endless delight to her life.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Brafford, her daughter, Elizabeth Rexrode, and her son-in-law, Earl Hall, Jr. She also leaves behind the fond memory of her daughter-in-law, Debbie Wolfe.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Oakland Community Church with the Rev. Phil Showers officiating. A reception in the church's fellowship hall will follow the service.
