Sylvia, Sister Rose, Sister Pat, and I remained very good friends, even after Sylvia and I left the Order. The four of us would get together at least twice a year to enjoy each other's company.
Even after Sister Rose had many health challenges, Sister Pat, Sylvia and I would go to the convent to play Sheepshead with Sister Rose! As we all aged, Sister Pat was confined to the Motherhouse as well. Sister Pat died last December, and more recently, . Sylvia had her health challenges. She and I visited a lot by phone these past months. Sylvia made the best brandy old-fashioneds! I learned from the best!
She is always in my thoughts and prayers. God has a good place for this very generous, thoughtful, kind soul.
