In Loving Memory of Sylvia Jean Griffin Burns.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jean Burns, who left us peacefully on November 21 at the age of 81.
Sylvia Jean Griffin was born on May 24, 1944 to the late Edward Austin Griffin and Glendred Deese Griffin. She was the heart of her family and the embodiment of warmth, grace, and strength throughout her life.
A loving spouse to Bill Burns for 48 years. she built a home filled with unconditional love and laughter. She touched the lives of countless friends, colleagues, church members and beloved fellowship youth group teens throughout her years.
However, her greatest joy was found in her roles as a mother and grandmother. She poured her energy into caring for her grandchildren, baking, reading and traveling with her husband and always creating a welcoming space for anyone who walked through her door. Her legacy is not just in the achievements of her life, but in the countless small acts of kindness, the unwavering support she gave, and the deep, enduring values she instilled in her children. She is preceded in death by her husband, our beloved father William F. Burns, her parents, Ed and Glendred Griffin, her sister Barbara Sipe and Brother in law Alan Sipe. She is survived by her children, son William F. Burns Jr. (Caitlin) and daughter Crystal Maver, her cherished grandchildren, Melanee Rowley, Ian Rowley (Keri), Joshua Rowley (Hannah), Fallon and Jaron Burns. Her brother Edward Griffin (Kelly) and their children Samantha, Jessica (Ken)(Jaiden/Willow)
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the memories we shared and the love she gave so freely.
Celebration of life will be held December 14th from 2-4pm at the Levine Senior Center
