Sylvia A. DiNocco, 77, of
Woodstock, CT, passed away in Hartford Hospital on February 13, 2026.
She was the wife of Charles "Charlie" H. Bryan for 40 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Silvio and Mary (Tomassi) Penta.
Sylvia took great delight in her career as a secretary, where she spent numerous years at Zampell Refractories. Her meticulous attention to detail and warm rapport with her colleagues will be remembered fondly by all those who had the pleasure of working alongside her.
Sylvia's passions painted the portrait of her life in the most vibrant of colors. Cooking was not just a hobby for her-it was her way to express love, creativity, and tradition. Her holiday dinners were legendary, as they reflected her passion in hosting gatherings that would become familial legends, and served as a testament to her generous nature and the pleasure she derived from bringing people together. A sanctuary of warmth and meticulous care, Sylvia's home was a reflection of her passion for housekeeping. She devoted herself to creating a space that was not only tidy and welcoming but also infused with the essence of comfort and familiarity. This haven extended to her cherished pets, whom she adored with every fiber of her being, reveling in the companionship and joy they brought to her daily life.
In moments of tranquility, Sylvia often turned to the art of crocheting, weaving threads with the same love that she stitched into the fabric of her relationships. Likewise, her adventures on cruises were moments when her adventurous spirit would shine.
Sylvia is survived by her husband, Charles "Charlie" Bryan, of
Woodstock, CT, her daughter, Rhonda Correll and husband Rick of
Swansea, MA, and her grandchildren, Amanda and Zachary. She additionally leaves her cousins and extended cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 AM in the A. A. Mariani and Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. Anthony's Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will continue in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
