Sylvia Renae Edwards Rogers, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, at the age of 70, in her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on June 16, 1954, to Lee "Momma Lee" Edwards and the late Bobbie Edwards, Renae's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the warmth of a nurturing spirit, deeply rooted in her unwavering Christian faith.
Renae's journey through life was marked by the deep bonds she formed with her family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother. Her mother, Lee "Momma Lee" Edwards, cherished Renae's unwavering support and companionship. Renae's legacy continues through her children, Erin Erben and Garrett Rogers (Jayme), who will forever hold dear the lessons and love their mother imparted. Her grandchildren, Wyatt and Katy Erben; AJ, Phoebe, Nathanael, Timothy, and Susie Rogers, were the light of her life, and she reveled in every opportunity to support and celebrate their achievements.
Renae's best friend, Cindi Maynard, stood by her side through the many seasons of life, sharing in joys and offering comfort in times of sorrow. Together, they created a friendship that withstood the test of time, built on mutual respect and unwavering support.
Preceded in death by her father, Bobbie Edwards, her beloved husband, Charles Morton Rogers, and her brother, Terry Edwards, Renae's memory will be a guiding star for those she has left behind.
Renae's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She had a creative soul, finding joy in the simple pleasures of gardening and crocheting. One of her proudest projects was the butterfly garden she created. Her crafty hands brought color and warmth to the lives of those around her, and her artistic legacy will live on in the countless pieces she lovingly created.
Those who knew Renae would describe her as loving, kind, and wise. Her gentle guidance and compassionate heart made her a confidante and mentor to many. Renae's wisdom was a gift she generously shared, helping to light the way for others as they navigated the complexities of life.
As we bid farewell to Sylvia Renae Edwards Rogers, we celebrate a life lived with grace and generosity. Her love and teachings will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family and friends. Renae's presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will remain a comforting presence, reminding us of the beauty and strength found in a life well-lived.

I am sorry that I did not get to know Renee better in high school. I remember she had a very quiet presence and it seemed she was always taking things in. Likely developing that wisdom that you her family say she shared with so many. What a beautiful legacy she has left and what a beautiful memorial you have left for her. May god bless and comfort each of you in your lossMay God bless and comfort each of you in your loss. Terri Jordan. '72 Tiger
