Sylvia Gomez

Sylvia Gomez was welcomed into heaven on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the age of 65. She was born December 25, 1958 in Victoria, Texas to Donaciano and Olivia Villarreal.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Hwy. in Victoria, Texas. Funeral Mass will be Friday, July 25, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Victoria, Texas with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Honoring Sylvia at pallbearers will be Joshua Rivas, Cody Gomez, Brandon White, Brayden Gomez, Chance Harryman and Ollie Rivas. Honorary pallbearers will be Kai Rivas, Tatum Gomez, Carsten Gomez, Cross Gomez, Connor Gomez and Creed Harryman.
Sylvia married her love, Margarito Gomez, Jr. December 26, 1981. She worked in retail for 35 years. Sylvia enjoyed taking drives to the beach where she'd sit and view the ocean waves moving back and forth. Another past time was going on drives near and around Victoria, listening to music, country and Spanish which brought her joy. She also appreciated spending time with her children and grandchildren, but especially with her husband and her mother. Her eyes would light up when they walked in. Sylvia was a good, hardworking lady and a terrific cook. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Donaciano Villarreal and son, Mark Anthony Gomez.
Leaving to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Margarito Gomez, Jr; daughter, Melissa Gomez Rivas; sons, Michael and Don Gomez; mother, Olivia Villarreal; siblings, David and Sally Villarreal; grandchildren, Joshua Rivas (Alexis) Jacqueline Rivas, Jasmine Rivas, Erin Harryman (Chance), Cody Gomez (Tara), Brandon White, Brittany Gipson, Aaliayah Castillo, Aubree Gomez, Marleigh Gomez, Brayden Gomez, Connor Gomez, Kenzie Gomez, and Jataviann Gomez; great-grandchildren, Ollie Rivas, Kai Rivas, Tatumn Gomez, Carsten Gomez, Cross Gomez, Crue Harryman, Creed Harryman, Cohen Dease and Alani Barnes; along with many other family members and friends.
