Sylvia Jean (Dixon) Mulkey, 76, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023. She was born on April 1, 1947, to the late John and Pauline Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Sanford; brothers, Donald Dixon and Billy Dixon; step-brothers, Willie Dixon and John Dixon; step-sisters, Lucille Robertson and Marie Romine; and sister-in-law, Jo Dixon.
Sylvia was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Mulkey; children, Tim (Patricia) Mulkey, Terry Mulkey, and Tina and Michael Wigington; son-in-law, Jeff Sanford; brother, Arnold Dixon; sister, Reba (Jim) Banks; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Dixon and Gail Dixon; grandchildren, Dustin Mulkey, Whitney Mulkey Cordell, Christopher Fletcher, Coby Sanford, Kristin Mulkey, Jessica Mulkey Clayton; great-grandchildren, Dakota Mulkey Cadence Mulkey, Landon Mulkey, Walker Cuprowski, Lucian Sanford, Hayzen Drain, and Sawyer Drain. Nieces and nephews also survived.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Hunt and Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Nathan Dixon, Mickey Young, Mark Mitchell, Jeff Sanford, Dakota Mulkey, and Landon Mulkey.
Her body will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
