Jim Mulkey
James (Jim)Grayson Mulkey, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home on March the 8th. Jim was a graduate of Soddy Daisy High school. He worked for many years at Combustion until his retirement and later continued to work for many years with Soddy Daisy Water Company. He was dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge in Soddy and proudly served as Worshipful Master of Lodge 418. He was also a member of Soddy Eastern Star.
A devoted Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and faithful Christian. Quiet and steady, he carried a strength that never needed to be spoken. He loved his wife and children with a deep, unwavering devotion, always putting his family first. Wise, humble, and endlessly willing to help others, he lived his life with a gentle spirit and a servant's heart.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Daisy Mae Mulkey, his son Jim (Jimmy)Mulkey, his mother Lois Uren, and grandson Kevin James Shelton, and sister JoAnn Uren.
He is survived by his loving children Julie (Anthony)Shelton, Yvonne Painter, and Jana. (Scott) Matsinger. His grandson Anthony (Jill) Shelton and his cherished great-grandchildren Talon Shelton, Josh (Christy) Painter, Addie Painter, Bentley Painter, Olivia Kate Painter. His brother Frank Mulkey, and two stepbrothers Carlos and Glenn Uren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Jim will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his community.
Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026 and 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the funeral home with services following at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Grady Dishroon officiating. Interment at Hamilton Memorial Gardens will be private.
