Sylvia S. Jones, 77, formerly of Monterey, passed away Friday, November 24, 1989 in the Pendleton Nursing Home.
She was born October 28, 1912 at Blue Grass, a daughter of Albert and Frannie (Hinkle) Simmons.
She was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Edwin B. Jones, died August 9, 1971. She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
Survivors include two nephews and one niece.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sam and Richard Sullenberger, Nicolas Beverage, John Lohr, Douglas Gutshall, Sheldon and Greg Simmons.
Friends may call at the funeral home in McDowell at any time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Rescue Squad, Monterey, Va. 24465.
