Sylvia Marie Kabat, 92 of Carmel, Indiana, was born into eternal life, January 11, 2025. Sylvia is survived by her children, Bruce Kabat and Joyce (Terry) Crowder; her grandchildren, Jenna (T.J.) O’Neil, Brad Scriff, Tim Griffin, and Adam (Rachel) Crowder; her great-grandchildren, Tommy O’Neil and Jimmy O’Neil; her sisters-in-law, Lorraine Gorski and Marge Lewandowski; her brother-in-law, Robert Kabat; her cousins, Ken (Karen) Wzorek and Mary Ann Clairmont; and several nieces and nephews. Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kabat, her daughter, Sharon Griffin; and her daughter-in-law, Roseanne Kabat. 

A faithful Catholic and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sylvia worked to provide a loving and comfortable home for her family. She also made others feel special with her talents as a self-employed beautician. 

Friends and family will gather for a time of visitation on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 1pm to 4pm eastern time, at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana

Another visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 4 pm to 8 pm central time, at Becvar and Son Funeral Home in Crestwood, Illinois. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be the following day, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 9:30 am central time, at Incarnation Church in Crestwood, Illinois. Sylvia will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Illinois, following Mass. 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital and Alzheimer's Association.

Arrangements are entrusted to Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home of Pittsboro, Indiana. All are encouraged to keep Sylvia's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.
