Sib Koster TUSCALOOSA Sib Koster, age 68, of Tuscaloosa, died Sept. 17, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev. Clifton Patterson, Rev. Bill Wallace, and her pastor-husband, Rev. Jerry Koster, officiating. Burial will follow in Little Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Andrew and Doshie Taylor and Charlie and Mamie Graham; her mother, Evelyn Graham Dutton; her father, James Taylor Sr.; her brother, James Taylor Jr.; her sister, Mary Taylor-Nece; and special friend, Kat McDaniel. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Koster; her sons, Jerry "Bud" Koster (Michelle) and David Koster (Patricia); her sister, Shirley Goodson (Tommie); Joe and Peggy Pritchett and Lamar and Sue Hamner, who were just like her brothers and sisters; her grandchildren, Mallory Koster Cantrell (Zach) and Lauren Koster (Brandon Calhoun); the sunshine of her life, her great-grandchildren Will Cantrell and Noah Calhoun; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She and Jerry first met when she was 14 years old and he was 15 years old. They dated until he was 18 and she was 17. They were married October 6, 1961. To this union came two sons. She was a godly pastor's wife who traveled almost every mile ministering with her husband - from hospitals and nursing homes to sick and shut-ins, and at churches for the past 39 years including Pondville Baptist, Eastern Gate Baptist, Elrod Baptist, and at Community Baptist Church in Moundville for the past 25 years. She touched many lives and hearts and changed many diapers. Her ministry in the church included teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and serving as Church Clerk. At the time of her death, she was the Benevolent Treasurer and Nursery Director. She served in many capacities, but her true calling was loving and teaching babies in her nursery class so parents could be in class or worship. Her latest babies were Ally Brooke Payne, Logan Livingston, and her big baby girl, Christy LaFoy. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Pallbearers will be Johnny Taylor, Ken Hanby, Benji Stringfellow, Scott Patterson, Wayne Allen, James Allen Jr., Jamie Taylor, and Robert Skelton. Honorary pallbearers are her church family at Community Baptist Church, Hale County Baptist pastors and churches, Rev. Jerry Montgomery, Sue and Lamar Hamner and family, Joe and Peggy Pritchett and family, the Shirley Goodson family, the Paula Taylor family, Daryl Nece, Gene and Ann Kirk and family, Garvis and Shirley Kinard and family, Charlie and Lori McDaniel, Ken and Tonya Hanby and family, Terri and Mack Davis and family, Cokie and Ruth Duffy, Mrs. Pat Lane, Johnny and Sarah Taylor, Clifton and Sara Patterson and family, Rob and Evie Stringfellow, Dr. Ross Vaughn and staff of Tuskaloosa Internal Medicine, home health care nurses, DCH 3rd Floor MICU, 2nd Floor TSICU, and 6th Floor North nurses and PCAs, two special PCAs Lisa McMullen and Chasity Boisclair, Tuscaloosa Police Department, Atlas Welding, Peco Foods, and Wells Fargo Insurance Services.
