Sylvia Ann Laredo passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on October 6, 1950, in Tucumcari, New Mexico.
Sylvia was the oldest daughter of Fred and Blandina Laredo. A devoted woman with unwavering faith, Sylvia was a lifelong member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, where she found joy and purpose in singing with the church choir. Her voice, warm and full of spirit, was a gift she shared generously, lifting the hearts of those around her.
Sylvia spent her career serving the youth of Tucumcari as a teacher's aide with the Tucumcari Public Schools where she retired in 2012 after 30 years, during which time she also worked with Mis Amigos Family Services as well as Teambuilders Family Services. Through all her professions she touched countless lives and helped shape brighter futures.
Music was the rhythm of Sylvia's life. She especially loved spanish music - the sounds that reminded her of family, heritage, and celebration. whether dancing or singing, she brought life into every room she entered, her joy infectious and her spirit unforgettable.
Sylvia is survived by her two children; Simon Maestas (Danelle) and Jasmine Rivera (Issac), her grandchildren; Anna (RJ), Mia, Gilbert, Gabriel, Nehemiah, and Milani and great grandson; William as well as many other loving family members.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her brother; Fred Laredo Jr; and several other cherished family members who welcomed her home with love.
Sylvia's memory will live on forever in the songs she sang, the people she loved so dear, and the gentle grace and resilience she carried throughout her life.
May her beautiful soul rest in God's eternal peace.
