A Celebration of Life Service for Sylvia Louise McMullen, age 58 of Enid, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Central Assembly of God, 1202 W. Oxford, Enid, with Pastor Josh Cosby officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Sylvia was born on April 11,1965, to J.W. and Metta Todd Coughran, and danced on the streets of gold for the first time on Saturday, December 30, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Enid, OK. She graduated from Enid High School in 1983, and NWOSU in 2015.
She worked hard throughout her life to provide for her family. From her time managing Hardee's and Carl's Jr., to working with those who needed extra care at NORCE and Brightway. Her "guys" were always so special to her and held a special place in her heart.
Sylvia was strong and a fighter. When life hit hard, so many times we watched as she fought harder. She overcame so much in her life and we're so proud to call her our mom, daughter, sister and friend. She has inspired us to never give up and to create the best possible life that we can for each other.
Sylvia was an incredible woman who loved deeply and cared greatly for those around her. She knew how to make you feel loved and cared for and was selfless in so many ways. She was incredibly proud of her kids, Matthew and Jessica, and her grandkids, Marisha, Tyson, Ta'Siana, Ta'Sean, Bear and Jasper. She truly lived out "None of my kids will ever have to go through anything alone." Her genuine love and warmth will be something we remember and cherish for the rest of our lives.
She is survived by her parents, J.W. and Metta Coughran; sister, Patricia Gregg; son, Matthew and his wife Staci and grandkids, Bear and Jasper; daughter Jessica and grandkids, Marisha, Tyson, Ta'Siana and Ta'Sean; and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
