Born on March 20, 1945, in Eudora, Arkansas, Sylvia touched the lives of many in her journey through life. She made her home in Detroit, Michigan, where she dedicated her life to serving others as a case worker for the State of Michigan, a role in which she brought compassion and understanding to those in need.
Sylvia was a proud mother, leaving behind cherished memories with her children. She was known for her warmth, her kindness, and her unwavering spirit, qualities that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sylvia's commitment to her family and community will always be remembered. She possessed a vibrant soul that inspired those around her, emanating love and support in both large and small ways. Her legacy of compassion will live on through her children and all those whose lives she touched.
Family and friends are invited to honor Sylvia's life and legacy. A public viewing will take place at James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Following that, a Family Hour will be held at the Metropolitan Church of God on Saturday, February 21st, at 11:00 AM, leading into the Funeral Service, at 11:30 AM. Sylvia will be laid to rest at Detroit Memorial Park East in Warren, MI.
In this time of mourning, we encourage all to celebrate the life of Sylvia Jean Moore, a remarkable woman whose legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.
