Nuanes, age 64, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Saturday,
August 28, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Husband Tony
Nuanes; Father Porfirio R. Martinez; Mother Marjorie Martinez;
Step-Mother Annie Martinez; Sister Beverly Anaya; Brothers Richard Martinez, Johnny Martinez, Charles Martinez, Patrick Martinez, Carlos Gallegos and Jerry Gallegos; Mother-In-law Betty-Ann Nuanes-Soto; Mother-in-law Grace Nuanes; Sister-in-law Sadie Gallegos; Brothers-in-law Gilbert Anaya, Art Montoya, Zoilo Padilla, Tom Nuanes, Steve Nuanes, Steve Moya, and Lani Kahawai.
She is survived by son Beau Nuanes and wife Juliana; son Brett Nuanes and partner Elisa Vasquez; grandchildren; Marisa, Mikayla, Destiny, Serenity, Harmony, Mariah, Daniel and Jakob; siblings; Rudy Martinez and wife Gloria, Gloria Apodaca, Suzanne Streit and husband Bob, Marianne Baca, Ron Martinez and wife Dolores,
Michael Martinez, Patricia Montoya, Pete Gallegos, James Gallegos and wife Della, Karen Padilla, and Frank Gallegos; Father-in-law Paul R.
Nuanes; Sisters-in-law Debbie Kahawai and
Anna Moya; Brothers-in-law Richard Nuanes, Andrew Nuanes and wife Marina, Anthony Moya and wife Patricia, Arnold Moya, and Stan Moya and wife Priscilla; Godchildren Janelle Lopez, Vincent Garcia and Anthony Rodriguez; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; numerous friends; and colleagues who will miss her dearly.
Sylvia was employed by the Albuquerque Publishing Company for over 40 years. She loved dancing, softball, jazzersize, weekends at Elephant Butte Lake, the Dallas Cowboys, and baking with her grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 7,
2021 at 6:30 p.m. at
Gabaldon Mortuary.
Rosary will begin at 7:00
p.m. Mass will take place on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Elks Lodge in Rio Rancho, 1530 Barbara Loop SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124
Pallbearers: Gilbert Anaya Jr, Dominic Sanchez, Nicholas Lucero, Vincent Garcia, Daniel Saavedra, and Anthony Rodriguez.
