Sylvia M. Salazar, 68, of San Antonio, Texas, entered eternal rest on September 9, 2025. She was born on August 31, 1957, to the late Nieves Gonzalez Martinez and Charles Martinez.
Sylvia worked for the Edgewood / San Antonio District for 20 years as a dedicated cafeteria server, where she touched countless lives with her kindness and warm smile. Most of her years were spent serving in the school cafeterias, and later she retired to enjoy the time she treasured most, being with her grandchildren.

On February 17, 2006, Sylvia married her Navarro Elementary sweetheart, Santiago C. Salazar. Their hearts reunited, and they shared 19 years of marriage, 41 years of togetherness, and 55 years of love in total. Santiago preceded her in death in 2025, leaving behind a love story that will remain an inspiration to all who knew them.

Sylvia's heart belonged to her family. She is survived by her children, Amie Olivares, Laurie Olivares, Santiago "Jimmy" Jr. Salazar, step daughters Rosalie Gonzalez, and Darlene Retiz; grandchildren, Alexis Salazar, Michael Salazar, Robert Rodriguez, Jazmin Faith Herrera, Jasille Olivares, Kimberly Galan, Julissa Duran, and Aylin Duran; and great-grandchild, Geneive Cherish Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her siblings, Anita Gonzales, Alma Garcia, Richard Diaz, Robert Diaz, Reynaldo Diaz, and Guillermo Diaz. She was preceded in death by her siblings Danny Martinez, Charles Martinez, Andrew Martinez, Rudy Diaz, and Michael Diaz.

Sylvia had many joys in life-she cherished her porcelain doll collection, loved watching scary movies on Netflix with her granddaughter Jasille, enjoyed dancing, cookouts, and listening to music, especially oldies. She was happiest spending time with family and friends, often in her own special Sylvia style. Her faith was precious to her, and she found great comfort in attending Christian church services and sharing her love for God Almighty with others.

Above all, Sylvia will be remembered as a silly, loving soul with a big heart, who left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her memory will be treasured forever by her family and friends, who will miss her tremendously.
