Sylvia W. Shawgo, 79, of Farmington, passed away at 6:10 PM on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at her home. She was born on January 18, 1943 in Galesburg, IL to Raymond L. and La Norma (Terwilliger) Pippitt. She married Roger L. Shawgo on June 2, 1961 in London Mills. He preceded her in death.
Sylvia is also preceded in death by her parents; two children, Lori Jo Shawgo and Raymond D. Shawgo.
She is survived by one daughter, Jenni R. (William) Hardesty of Woodbury, TN; two grandsons, Ray (Caitlin) Berkley and Justin E. Berkley; one great-granddaughter, Alivia Berkley; one sister, Debbie (Frank) Martin of London Mills; and her companion of 12 years, Tom Kennedy.
Sylvia was a former owner of Mother & Daughter Shop and owner of Shawgo Storage Units. She was a member of the London Mills United Methodist Church and Farmington Women of the Moose.
Service will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Dean Ring will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington, IL. In lieu of flowers, pay a good deed forward. Memorials may be made to the Farmington Rescue 1100. To leave an online condolence you may go to www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
