Sylvia S. Sicard, age 95, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Apple Rehabilitation Center in Watertown. She was the loving wife of the late Evon Sicard.
Born in Waterbury on January 6, 1930, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Stephen and Selma Atkucunas. Raised in the Brooklyn section of Waterbury and fluent in Lithuanian, Sylvia was a valued employee of Brooklyn Bakery. She later moved to the Town Plot section of Waterbury to raise her family and worked as a manager at one of the city's first Dunkin' Donuts, located on South Main Street. Sylvia also worked for several years as a Teacher's Aide with the Waterbury Department of Education and, later, was employed by White Flower Farm.
Sylvia and her husband fulfilled their dream when they moved to their farm in Morris, where they enjoyed caring for animals of all kinds and tending to gardens filled with vegetables and beautiful flowers. They spent countless hours gardening and riding horses together. Later in life, Sylvia resided at the Village at East Farms and Apple Rehabilitation Center, where she received exceptional care.
Above all, Sylvia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who deeply cherished time spent with her family.
Sylvia is survived by her children, Michael Archambault and his wife, Doreen of Plymouth, John Archambault and his wife, Theresa Demonstranti of New London, Jane Archambault of CA, Elaine Hayes of MA, and Dorian Barach and her husband, Carl of Fairfield and her stepson, Claude Sicard and his wife, Debbie. She also leaves eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and her former daughter-in-law, Karen Archambault, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Kalick, her sister, Lillian Pino, and her former husband, Elmer Archambault.
Sylvia's family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of both The Village at East Farms and Apple Rehabilitation Center for their outstanding care and compassion shown to Sylvia.
