With deep sorrow and saddened we announce the passing of Sylvia Marie Sundquist (Toner) who departed peacefully on April 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at home; she was 91 years old. She leaves behind her three daughters, Julianna Carmona, Roberta Harper and Sharon Carmona and lots of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Sylvia was born in Ferryland, Newfoundland, Canada. She had 10 brothers and sisters. Sylvia was raised as catholic and attended a Catholic school in Newfoundland, where she enjoyed the theory of music and playing the piano. She immigrated to the United States to Southern California to be close with her siblings. She later married and had three children. She worked with ARCO, NASA and CBC base where she retired in 1995.

After her retirement, Sylvia helped raised some of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which she enjoyed doing. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her family who lived long distance. She was a strong, loving and caring woman who loved her family the most and made sure they were well taken care of.

A visitation service is on Thursday, May 16th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 6 p.m. at Perez Family Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road in Ventura.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ventura, 3175 Telegraph Road, on Friday, May 17th at 10:30 a.m., with reception to follow.
