Sylvia Loubat Wartberg

Sylvia Loubat Wartberg, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, in Slidell, Louisiana, at the age of 92. Born on June 6, 1933, in New Orleans to Lester Sr. and Anita Loubat, Sylvia lived a life rooted in family, faith, and community. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland L. Wartberg Jr., her son, Stephen C. Wartberg, and her brother, Lester Loubat. Sylvia is survived by her devoted son, Roland L. Wartberg III, and her cherished grandchildren, Taylor L. Wartberg, Corey Chagnard, and Jennifer Hurley. Her legacy continues through her three great-granddaughters, Sydney Hurley, Addison Chagnard, and Alexis Hurley, who were the joy of her later years. A lifelong New Orleanian at heart, Sylvia carried the spirit of her hometown wherever she went. She was a passionate and faithful fan of the New Orleans Saints, never missing a chance to cheer for her team. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother whose kindness, warmth, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A private service will be held at a later date.
