Benson, NC: Mr. Talmadge Thomas Dean, age 78, of N. Wall Street passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 surrounded by his family. Memorial Services will be held-2:00PM Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
Tal was born on November 8, 1945, in Pennsylvania to the late John H. Dean and Louise Carducci Dean. Along with his parents Tal was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Dean. Tal spent his early years as a Marine. After his military service Tal went to work in the coal mines working his way up to fire boss. He had a lifetime passion for hunting and fishing. After Tal retired, he loved working in the garden and loved taking care of his cats and was involved in cat rescue efforts. His greatest love was his wife and family. Tal will be remembered as a very generous and caring man to all that knew him.
Survivors include the love of his life and wife of 56 years, Ann Dean; daughter, DeAnn Tyndall and husband, Jonathan; grandchildren, Jessica and Connor Tyndall; siblings, Jim Schutter and partner, Fred Frank, Cookie Lyon, Marion Mousourakis and husband, Gary, Marlene Passmore and husband, Ray, Marvin Dean and wife, Georgene, Leonard Dean and wife, Sandi, Bryant Dean and wife, Linda, Vanessa Knob, Lillian Burns, and husband, John; sister-in-law, Joycelyn Dean; mother-in-law, Margaret Lee; brother-in-law, Robert Lee and wife, Carolyn, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would also like to thank the Raleigh Vet Center and Veterans Group.
The family will receive friends after the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Johnston County Animal Protection League, SPCA of Wake County, Safe Haven for Cats in Raleigh or to a charity of one’s choice in honor of Talmadge Thomas Dean.
