Tamala Shirlyn Cook, age 51, entered into eternal rest on Saturday March 7, 2026, at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, SC.

Born in Greenwood, she is the daughter of Lynn and Shirley Cook of Waterloo. Tamala had a deep love for church, where she found joy and peace. Her passions included cooking, singing, and traveling. She had a special fondness for children and especially loved her own children and grandchildren dearly.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: four children, Jessalyn (Larry) McCray, Navyn Cook, Serenity Jenkins all of Greenwood, SC and Nathan Cook of Greenville, SC; beloved grandchildren Aaiden McCray, Aaliyah McCray, Aashton McCray, and Karson Jenkins all of Greenwood; a sister Farrah Cook of Laurens, SC and two brothers, Jonathan Cook of Spartanburg, SC and Jordan Cook of Laurens, SC. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, family, and friends she was so dearly bonded too!

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Otis and Neicie Cunningham and her paternal grandparents Ozzie and Agnes Cook.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at The Kennedy Mortuary on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alex D. Henderson and Rev. Leon Bible with burial to follow in Westview Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of Lynn and Shirley Cook, 1722 Blakely Road, Waterloo.
