Tamara Ayana Curtwright passed into the arms of the Lord, suddenly and tragically on Sunday June 11, 2023, she was 32.
She was born in Canton, IL to Cindy Parker & Bradford Curtwright. Tamara graduated from Liberty High School and went on to study for and obtain her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Quincy University.
Before moving to Texas, Tamara worked at Mike's Place Restaurant for 9 years, and the owners Mike & Colleen Brinkmeyer looked after her as if she was their own after her mother moved south to Texas.
After Tamara moved south, she worked with the Brazoria County Juvenille Justice Department as an Intake Juvenile Probation Officer. Tamara's family will always fondly remember her for her love of swimming, going to the beach, her interest in mystical figures such as fairies and the colors pink & purple. But the thing that truly brought her joy was spending time with her dog Janie Kay (aka Poots).
Tamara is survived by her parents Cindy Williams and her husband Billy and Bradford Curtwright, her siblings Jennifer Davis and her husband Phil of Liberty, IL and Dwayne Baum (Stacey) of Quincy, IL. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Kody, Brody, Sabrina, Jake, Seth, David, Christopher, Britt, Nikki, Dawn & Beth.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Charles & Louise Curtwright and her maternal grandparents Howard & Nancy Parker.
She will also be sadly missed by her many cousins and the many friends she made both in Illinois and Texas.
Relatives, friends and the Officers and members of the Brazoria County Juvenile Justice Department are invited to gather and pay respects to her family on Friday June 16th from 4-8 P.M. at C.T. Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia, TX 77486.
