Tamara Leach Obituary

Tamara Kay Leach, a lifelong resident of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on November 1, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 55. Tamara was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Sampson and Mina Sue Leach. She attended school in Locust Grove and grew up surrounded by family, faith, and music-foundations that shaped her life and heart.
Over the years, Tamara worked many jobs and was known for her strong work ethic and caring spirit. She delivered mail for the Locust Grove Post Office for many years and also worked as a CNA and CMA at several local nursing homes, including Chouteau Meadow Brook, Locust Grove, and Salina, as well as in home health throughout Mayes and Tulsa Counties. She also worked for Simmons in Arkansas-where, as she liked to say, she "slung the chickens." But of all her work, she found the greatest joy in caring for others, especially the children.
Tamara's faith was a central part of her life. She was a member of Cedar Grove Church in Locust Grove, where her father pastored for many years. A gifted musician, she played piano, guitar, and bass, and sang gospel music with "The Original Gospel Way Group." After her mother's passing, the group continued on as "The Leach Family." Together, they shared their love of gospel music at countless church services, funerals, revivals, and community events.
She loved traveling with her family to singings and revivals in North Carolina and Georgia and was always ready for a good gospel singing, hog fry, or family gathering. Tamara also loved being outdoors-going to the creek, fishing, and crawdad hunting. In her younger years, she was active in volleyball and softball. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, and she made sure every year was celebrated with a big family party, costumes and all. She loved puzzles, bingo, fried chicken, and, in recent years, found great enjoyment in online shopping-especially on Temu.
Tamara will be remembered for her wit and her humor-she was quick with a comeback and had what she fondly called a "warped sense of humor." She was loving, caring, honest, and always herself. Her family described her as "very classic" and "very blunt," and she was deeply loved for it.
Tamara is survived by: her husband: Tracey Osage of the home; her children: Anthony Fencer of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Gabriella "Beebi" Sanders and husband Brandon of Colcord, Oklahoma, Shelby Leach of the home; Callie Over and Whitney of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and India Stout and husband Chad of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 11 Grandchildren: Kinlyn and Kayman Fencer of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Montana and Damascus Leach of Greasy, Oklahoma, Hayden Sanders of Colcord, Oklahoma, 1 brother: Sampson "Grape" Leach, Jr. of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 4 sisters: Judy Littledave and husband Skunk of Salina, Oklahoma, Sammi Leach of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Mary Smith and husband Chase of Chouteau, Oklahoma, and Stephanie Sitsler and Jake Black of Pryor, Oklahoma; numerous other nieces and nephews, relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Sampson and Mina Sue Leach; and her son: Levi Osage; one brother: Joshua Leach; a nephew: David Jack Lyman; a great-nephew: Noah Leach.
Funeral services for Tamara will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2025, at Cedar Grove Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, with Pastor Billy George Pettit officiating. Interment will follow at McClain Cemetery in Locust Grove. Services have been entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home.
