Cynthia Sue Leach, age 78, of Estero, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at Gulf Coast Medical Center following an extended illness.
Cynthia was born on March 19, 1947, in Hammond, Indiana, a daughter of the late Walter and Irene (née Earl) Stempkowski. A proud graduate of Purdue University, she earned her bachelor's degree in accounting and went on to build a successful career as an accounting manager for several businesses, later serving with distinction at Trust Financial Services.
In 2003, Cynthia and her husband made Southwest Florida their home, where she embraced the sunshine and community with joy. She was a talented seamstress who loved sewing, embroidery, and crafting draperies and clothing. A gifted cook, she took pride in preparing healthy and delicious meals for her family. Cynthia was also an avid tennis enthusiast and a passionate traveler, having explored the world alongside her beloved husband. Together, they enjoyed 34 cruises over a ten-year span, where Cynthia's love for dancing often earned her top honors in shipboard contests.
Cynthia's warmth, creativity, and sense of adventure enriched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry D. Leach of Estero, FL; her daughter, Michele R. Jiandu and husband Atkins of Moyock, NC; her son, Larry D. Leach II and wife Clara of Naples, FL; her brothers, James Stempkowski of Leesburg, FL, and Lawrence Stempkowski and wife Diane of Tampa, FL; and her cherished grandchildren, Megan, Hanna, Cole, and Daniella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ronald Stempkowski, and her daughter, Kari M. Sirles (2018).
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail S., Bonita Springs, FL.
