Tamara Michelle Townsend

Tamara Michelle Townsend, 31, of Lumberton, North Carolina, departed this life on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton. She was born on Thursday, February 24,1994in Robeson County, North Carolina, to Michael Anthony Townsend and Teresa Hammonds, who survive her.
Tamara was a proud member of the American Indian–Lumbee Tribe. She was known for her creativity, loving heart, and joyful spirit. She enjoyed cooking and baking, writing poetry, and singing. Tamara had a special gift for bringing warmth and laughter to those around her and cherished every moment spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Acadia Wilcox; her maternal grandmother, Clara Mae Hammonds; her paternal grandmother, Mildred Townsend; and her paternal great-grandmother, Julie Bullard.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Michael Anthony Townsend of New York and Teresa Hammonds of Lumberton; her children, Ahlillyona Locklear (of the home), Carly Moore of Lumberton and Kileen Moore also of Lumberton; and Michael A. Townsend Jr. of Texas. She is also survived by one sister: Trina Smith (Dairrion) of Texas and one brother: Michael A. Townsend, Jr. of Texas; her aunt Joyce Fields, lovingly known as "Grandma," along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply.
Tamara's life was a reflection of love, kindness, and strength. Her presence brought light to everyone she encountered, and her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
