Tamela Batch Obituary

Tamela Batch, age 67, of Edwardsville, died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Evercare Skilled Nursing Facility of Edwardsville after a short, aggressive illness.
She was born November 25, 1957 in Fort Worth, TX, the daughter of the late Jessie Batch and Helen (Voyles) Herring.
Tamela is survived by a son, John Sterling Batch of Edwardsville; a sister, Lisa Ash of Edwardsville; and nieces and nephew: Emma Ash, Morgan Ash and Liam McGue. Also surviving are many dear cousins in Oklahoma and Texas.
Tammy graduated from Triad High School in 1976 and received a Bachelor's Degree from SIUE in 2012. She worked in healthcare as a CNA and LPN as well as drafter at Pratt-Whitney in the 1980s.
Her greatest role was that of mom to her beloved son John. They lived on Springer Avenue in Edwardsville for over thirty years. They could often be found at the corner watching the vehicles, at the library fountain and, of course, at laundromats all over the county. She dedicated her life to his happiness and contentment; his life will never be the same without her.
There will be a private family memorial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the fund established for the ongoing care of her beloved son, John Batch. Donations can be made securely online at https://gofund.me/2b96e814c.
