Tammy Kay Alfstad, 57, died February 1, 2022 at her home in Sabin, MN.
Tammy Kay Brandt was born February 6, 1964, in Moorhead, MN, to Herbert and Fern (Lammers) Brandt. She was a longtime resident of Sabin, MN.
Tammy was extremely proud of being one of the first women in the trucking industry and she gained great respect from all who knew her for her driving skills and the friendships she made on the job. Her husband, Jerry, taught her how to drive a semi and they drove all over the United States together. Her daughter, Emma, would accompany her on many of the trips while she was young. When she was driving semi alone, Tammy’s beloved dog, Trixie, could always be found beside her in the passenger seat. While Tammy had a great love for all animals, she had the strongest bond with her dogs, Trixie and Diesel.
Tammy will be remembered for her big heart and her love for helping others; she was always there to provide a helping hand. She helped many people over the years, including her mother and her grandmother, Della. She loved gardening, baking and watching birds. Music was an important part of her life, as it seemed to calm her. The holidays were a favorite time for Tammy, and she always tried to make them special for her family.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Jerry Alfstad; daughter, Emma Brandt (Shawn Arntson); brother, Bill Brandt (Ley Bouchard); sister, Victoria (John) Wagner, and Josh Dahlstrom, whom she considered a son. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Craig, who died at birth, and Cory, who died in 2020.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, at 3:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. Friends and family may gather together from 2-3 P.M.
*The service will be livestreamed here on Tammy’s webpage beginning at 3:00.
