Tammy Lanett Andersen, 54, of
Kerrville, Texas, passed away tragically on March 26, 2025, in Fredericksburg, Texas. She was born on September 2, 1970, in Fredericksburg to Charles Andersen and Joyce Little.
Tammy grew up in Fredericksburg, attending Fredericksburg High School before her family moved to Kerrville, where she graduated from Tivy High School in the Class of 1989. After high school, she pursued trade school and remained in Kerrville, where she built her life and raised her three children, Cassie, and twins Drew and David. When her children were young, the family lived in San Antonio for a few years before returning to Kerrville, where she continued to provide a loving home for them.
Tammy dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a caregiver and later at Concord Primary Care. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide for her children, always striving to give them the best life possible. Despite the challenges she faced, Tammy was known for her resilience and strength. Born with a disability, having only one arm, she never let it hold her back-embracing her difference with humor by nicknaming her disabled arm "Scruffy."
A creative soul, Tammy found joy in making candles and drawing on rocks-an artistic spirit she passed down to her daughter, Drew. Together, they had dreams of opening a business to showcase their creativity. Tammy also loved frogs, nature, and spending time floating on the river with an iced tea in hand. In her younger years, she was known for her wild spirit, love for Bud Light, big hair, and rock and roll music.
Her children describe her as a loving and selfless mother, who, despite life's struggles, always tried her best. She was an incredible cook who could make something out of nothing. She took great pride in her children's accomplishments, especially celebrating Drew's acceptance into Schreiner University. Tammy made mistakes in life, but she never ran from them-she faced them head-on with accountability and grace.
In recent years, she spent much of her time with her beloved sister, Lana, who heartbreakingly passed away alongside her in the accident. One of Tammy's greatest joys was being a grandmother to her grandson, Camern, and she was eagerly anticipating the birth of her granddaughter, Anaya, who was born the day after Tammy's passing.
Tammy is survived by her children, Cassie Mann (Sean), Drew Mann, and David Mann (Autumn); half-brother, Terry Sifford; grandchildren, Camern Wilbanks and Anaya Mann; Cheryl Brooks; best friend, Vinnie Harper; and many other dear friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister, Lana Andersen.
Tammy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her faithful companion, her dog Alvin, and her children, who will long to hear the nicknames she lovingly gave them: David's "Dwayne" or "D," Cassie's "Louie Lou Al," and Drew's-though she hated it-"Drew Zoo."
Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to help cover funeral expenses, as Tammy's children are young and her passing was unexpected.
Tammy's selfless heart, unbreakable spirit, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten.
