Newport, NH: Tammy Marie Barton passed away on June 10, 2025 at home.

She was born on July 23, 1971 in Newport, NH, the daughter of Deane Murray Barton and Barbara Ann (Blish) Barton. She lived in Grantham, Croydon, Lempster, and Newport.

She attended pre-school at Fullington Farm in Lyme, NH. Also school at West Terrace in Claremont, NH, school at Johnathan Daniels in Keene, NH, then Stevens High School in Claremont, NH where she graduated in 1992.

Tammy joined the Day Out Program, now Pathways of Claremont. She enjoyed all her friends and the activities she did. She did a lot of volunteer work: Cote's Motel, McDonalds, Hannaford, the Senior Center, Changes Thrift Shop, SEVCA in Windsor, VT, and Meals on Wheels in Windsor, VT. If she didn't want to do something, she would say "Can't have to."

In the 70s and 80s she did Special Olympics in Durham, NH. She got a lot of medals, gold, silver and bronze, and ribbons. In the 80s she went to Silver Towers Camp in Ripton, VT, where she learned how to swim. She loved swimming in her pool at home. She became a Girl Scout, and went skiing at Arrowhead, Sunapee, and Eastman Pond. She did horseback riding in Thetford, VT in the 90s. She loved being in the barn with her mini, Charlie. She loved Scooby Doo and Frozen, but she loved music the best, especially the 50s and 60s, along with dancing. She enjoyed all the town hall parties we had. She enjoyed her 3 wheel purple bike with her baby doll. She did crafts with beads with Mom. She made some beautiful things. Anything that needed an OK on, she would always say "Ask Mom."

Tammy loved the elderly and babies, and always enjoyed being at her Grandparents. She was loved by many people that only saw her once. She had a lot of friends, #1 was Cathy Collins. She was always a happy kid, always enjoyed coffee with Mom. She was her Mom's whole world, always put first. Every morning at breakfast she would say "I love you!" She will be deeply missed!

Survivors include: her mother Barbara and stepdad John Cummings of Croydon, one sister Kerry Barton Richardson of Unity and companion Todd Stone, one stepbrother Michael Cummings of Goffstown and his wife Karen, and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by: Grandparents Herman and Etta Barton of Grantham, Albert and Marian of Springfield, VT, her father Deane Barton of Croydon and stepmother June Barton of Croydon, and a stepsister, Tanya Dykes of Tennessee.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 12 -2 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home on 42 Main Street, Newport. A graveside service will follow at North Newport Cemetery. Reception will be held at the Senior Center, 76 South Main St. in Newport following services.
