Tammy Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Southern Utah Mortuary - Cedar City on Nov. 22, 2025.

Tamra Davis returned to her Heavenly Father on November 20th, 2025.

Tammy was born on May 16th, 1969 in Cedar City Utah to LaMond and Judy Gai Davis.

Tammy was the baby of the family and was so loved by her siblings, Dwayne, Gale, Debbie and Joni. She was the light in our family, and we all felt so blessed that Heavenly Father sent her to be in our family.

At the age of three, Tammy began having a few health issues. She was referred to the Primary Children's Hospital. While there Tammy was the first child to be diagnosed with a little-known condition called "Autism". This began a new journey in Tammy's life as she underwent many studies along with her siblings so the medical community could learn more about Autism.

Tammy lived in a small community in Southern Utah as a young child and her parents soon learned that the school system there could not provide the type of education she would need to progress. Her father was able to transfer to the Cedar City area where the public system could offer more opportunities for Tammy.

Tammy was blessed to have so many wonderful teachers in her life, Tom Walker, Tressa Beckstead and all her teachers truly loved her. Tammy's situation caused changes to be made in the educational program that helped others with severe learning disabilities to be able to be promoted with their peers rather than being separated. This action helped people with disabilities to be able to interact with their peers so they could learn from them and it also helped the peers learn more about people with disabilities.

Tammy loved Christmas. She loved to look at the old Christmas Toy Catalogs for hours. She simply referred to them as "Tree Books" as there were so many beautiful Christmas Trees in them. She loved Birthdays and our family always had to include her name in the Happy Birthday Song regardless of whose Birthday it was! She loved the color Purple, which she simply called "Pur Pur", we worked a long time on trying to get her to say it the right way! She loved Disneyland and went often with her mother and her sisters. Her most important wish was to be a "good girl", which we often told her that she was. She always wanted others to be happy. She loved to go for rides and enjoyed candy and a good Coke!

She had many hobbies such as, clogging the toilet with toilet paper, flooding the family basement, clogging most of the sinks in the family home. Brad, her brother-in- law became our go to Plummer! Thank you Brad! She also enjoyed running (usually away from people!). At times she could be found skinny dipping and loved to go streaking!! There was never a dull moment with Tammy!

Tammy is survived by her brother Dwayne Davis, brother Gale Davis (Julie), sister Debbie Slaugh (Brad), and sister Joni Hansen (Barry). She was preceded in death by her father Lamond Davis and mother Judy Davis.

Along Tammy's journey in this life she was blessed with so many Angels. Thank you to our Magazine Warriors who daily supplied our family with magazines for Tammy.

Thank you to her many wonderful Doctors, Mark Corry, Travis Jones and Bryce Perkins.

We are so grateful for Curtis Baker, her Social Worker, who has helped us many, many times to provide the best programs and opportunities possible for Tammy. He has been a beacon of light to us! We are also so very grateful for Ethan Bunker who helped little Tammy during her last few months.

The family wishes to thank all the Angels at Turn that loved her so much! She loved each one of you!

To my baby sister, I will miss you every single day that I am left upon this earth. I will love you forever!

A public viewing will take place on Monday, December 1st, 2025 at 11am at Southern Utah Mortuary, followed by a funeral service at 12pm. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Public is invited to attend. To share online condolences, please visit www.mortuary.org.
