Philip Jeffries

Philip Slade Jeffries was born on a Wednesday in Cedar City, Utah September 9, 1981. He was called home to our Heavenly Father on November 12, 2025, just south of Cedar City while on a cattle haul from Salina, Utah to California. He accepted his call home to our Lord close to home which allowed him to be surrounded by his family on this day and final location.
There is no doubt that Philip was loved by and touched the lives of many people. As a boy he was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a boy scout. He liked to fish, hunt and spend time out in nature surrounding his hometown of Parowan. He had a lot of friends and was a likeable and lovable person with an infectious laugh, fun personality, and kind manner. A genuine cowboy who always had an interest and natural ability to handle and care for livestock. Some of the occupations he enjoyed were Rodeo and bull-riding, where he won a gold buckle or two, sheep shearing with his buddies, framing houses, and driving truck in the family business, just like his grandfather, dad, and brother.
Philip loved to tell stories and had many adventures. Though his time on earth had many amazing and exciting experiences, he also had many hardships and struggles; his soul, spirit and his body went through a lot. There were many times he was feeling pain, and no one would know it. Philip lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by so many.
He is survived by his daughter Braylie Barton-Jeffries of Paragonah, Utah; parents Richard Jeffries of Cedar City, Rebecca Bentley of Cedar City, Utah; siblings Jennifer Jensen of Cedar City; Richie & Carrie Jeffries of Paragonah. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ewin & Henrietta Jeffries and Calvin and Mildren Sowers; and his infant daughter Kaylie Barton-Jeffries.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Paragonah Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 18, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N. 300 W., Cedar City, UT).
