Mrs. Hemby was born in Jacksonville. She worked as a local tax appraiser and real estate agent, where she gained respect and admiration for her commitment and dedication. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Tammy will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Hemby was preceded in death by her father as well as her siblings, Jimmy Mills and Dorothy Marshburn.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Stormy (Ryan) Gilbert of Peletier; her devoted son, Cory (Kristen) Lawson of Charlotte; her mother, Bonnie Leary of Jacksonville; her treasured granddaughter, Makenzie Gilbert of Peletier; fur baby Bella, as well as her siblings, Roger (Sylvia) Mills of Newport and Shirley (Ervin) Thompson of Wilson.
While flowers are welcome the family ask for house plants so that their beauty will continue to grow.

I am so sad hearing that Tammy passed away. We worked together and she would stop office to say hi and talk about Bella her puppy . She was such a sweet and funny lady. I will miss her very much We didn´t talk lately I knew she got sick. I am so sorry and please accept our condolences.

Ms Tammy was such a shining light. We bonded from the moment I met her. She always found a way to smile through the tough times. Each time I saw her she never neglected to ask how I was doing, even though she was facing her own trials. I think of her and her kindness and compassion often. She will be missed.
