Tammy was born on June 2, 1967 in West Monroe, Louisiana. She departed from her remarkable life on December 27, 2024. She spent her childhood with her sisters on the banks of the Ouachita River. She grew up loving the outdoors, something that stood true her whole life; hunting, fishing, water skiing, crawfishing, riding three wheelers and spending lots of time on the sandbar were just a few of her favorite activities. She attended Pinecrest Elementary and Woodlawn Middle schools, where she loved playing basketball and spending time with her friends.

Tammy graduated from West Monroe High School in 1985 and from nursing school in 1988. After they were married in 1994, she worked with Rec in his construction business for many successful years, while at the same time teaching their children through the Homeschool Association Program during their early school years. Throughout her adult life, she owned and operated a number of businesses. She obtained a license to practice stock trading, becoming a successful broker in the late 2000’s, and maintained trading for years to follow. At the time of her passing, she was an independent contractor with MoneyBlock financial consultants alongside her employment with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana.

Tammy joined Rotary in 2010 as a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of the Twin Cities. She quickly immersed herself in Rotary Service locally and district wide. Tammy’s service to her club and community was immeasurable, having served in every office and twice as President in 2012-2013, and again in 2019-2020. In addition to her service to her club, she served Rotary District 6190 as District Secretary from 2015-2021. She was also a Paul Harris Fellow +6 of the Rotary Foundation. She was a large supporter of Camp RYLA and presently was an active member of the Monroe Rotary Club.

Her proudest accomplishment of all was her children - she spent the last six months being “Tookie” to her only grandbaby Eryn. A devoted mother, she poured her love and wisdom into everyone she had taken under her wing. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support touched the hearts of everyone she met. It’s this spirit that will live on through those who had the privilege of knowing Tammy in her short lifetime, as a mother and a friend.

She was always up for a good road trip. She was full of light, life, love and laughter; to know her was to love her, and she was loved by so many people. The world lost a very bright light upon her death and she will be missed for eternity.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward “Boots” Lewis Sr., Ethel Mae Lewis, JV Wall Sr., and Lillian Morehead Wall.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Kyra Recoulley Upton and husband, Anthony, Madison Lynn Recoulley; sons, Andrew Moore Recoulley and Samuel Luke Recoulley; her granddaughter, Eryn Amaya Upton; the father to her children, A. H. “Rec” Recoulley III; her parents, Butch and Daisy Jeanette Lewis; her two sisters, Melissa West and husband, Bubba, and Jennifer Lewis Smith; several nieces and nephews; cousins; lifelong best friend, Anita Adams and immeasurable friends.

Pallbearers will be Jett Teague, Blake Martin, Drake Darden, Cody Rikard, Sam Adams, and Brock Adams.
