Tammy Ark Shackleford, age 58, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025.

Tammy had a passion for yellow roses and was an avid reader, finding joy and comfort in the pages of her favorite books. Her generous heart and unwavering love for her family and friends will remain a treasured memory.

She is preceded in death by her father: William Ark; brother, Bill Ark; infant sister, Anna Ark; daughter, Sherry Shackelford; special friend, Judy Mealer.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Michael Shackelford; daughters, Makayla Linger (William McFarland) and Myranda (Blake) Walden; sons, Ernie (Natasha) Shackelford and Travis (Julie) Shackelford; grandsons, John Walden and Landon Shackelford; mother, Edith Osborne; siblings, Joe (Faye) Ark and Anita Loveday; special friends, Patrick and Marsha Smith, Billy and Donna Palmer; brother-in-law, Kenny Shackelford; other extended family and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., on Monday, September 29, 2025, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Jimmy Maddox and Bro. Joe Ark officiating.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m., prior to the service.
