Ms. Tanny Mae Mathews was born on May 30, 1962, to Walter and Alicia Matthews in Jacksonville, Florida. Tanny attended the local schools of Duval County and went on to graduate with her high school diploma. Ms. Tanny also attended William M. Raines High School as a student and also was employed at William M. Raines High School as one of the greatest custodians and the sweetest lunch servers on this side of heaven. Tanny also received a diploma in advanced career training as a Medical Assistant on June 23, 2003.
Ms. Tanny was also employed with Royal Services for many years. " FannyMae" as she was so affectionately known by all who knew her, knew the love she had for singing, dancing, "her ear plugs", and writing poetry. Ms. Tanny Mae Mathews was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church and would visit other churches with C.J. & Linda. Tanny loved the pool but couldn't stand the beach and was member of the YMCA. Tanny would call public transportation and schedule her a trip to pick her up to go anywhere she wanted to go.
"FannyMae" was a happy, loving, & the most authentic person ever. Ms. Tanny Mae Mathews answered the masters' call and gained her wings on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 11:30am. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alice Matthew; brothers, Jasper, Wiley, & Earl Matthews; sisters, Bethena Brown, Bessie Matthews, and Dourthey Stokes.
Ms. Tanny Mae Mathews leaves behind to carry on her legacy, sisters, Mary Wainwright, Linda (Cathie) Ham Kenyatta Wright and Rasheema Wright; brothers, William Matthews and Christopher (Brenda) Matthews; 2 cousins, Beatrice Odom and Mark Davis; godfather, Bernell Sumtpner very close & special friends; Cynthia Thomas, Wanda Johnson, Oscar Killings, Lakesha Mobley, and Deon Phelps; very special nurses, Lashaunda, Hanna, Emily, Holly, Catherine Hughes, & Dr. Vyas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
