Tanya Lynn Blatt

Tanya Lynn (Kirby) Blatt, 62, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on March 30, 2026, at Morrison House after a long journey with early-onset dementia. 

She was born on November 22, 1963, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Todd and Barbara (Sexton) Kirby. Tanya was a 1982 graduate of Hoover High School in North Canton. 

Tanya was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She worked alongside her husband, Mark Blatt, in their family business. She also held positions at Pier 1 Imports and Good Samaritan Hospital. Above all, she valued her time as a stay-at-home mother. 

She created a warm home filled with lasting memories— from barefoot summers at the pool with her children to family vacations in Florida. A simple but cherished memory was her habit of standing on one leg while cooking or doing dishes, a small gesture that became a lasting symbol of home for her family. 

Tanya had a special love for babies and was overjoyed to become a grandmother. In her final months, her granddaughter, Ava, brought a bright smile to her face and, even in the midst of her illness, brought out glimpses of the woman her family knew and loved. 

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 37 years, Mark Blatt, together for 45 years; her children, Taylor (Will) Penn, MaKenna Blatt, and Austin Blatt; her granddaughter, Ava Penn; her siblings, Kristen (Paul) Ousley and Doug (Michelle) Kirby; her nephews, Matthew and Hunter Ousley and Ryan Kirby; and niece, Jordyn Kirby; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Mike Blatt, Kristie Blatt, and Kathie (Tom) Blatt-Dannemann. 

While dementia changed the later years of her life, it never changed the love she gave or the impact she had. That love lives on in the family she built and in the way they carry her forward each day. 

The family will celebrate Tanya’s life privately. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Morrison House Hospice Center, or your preferred charity or organization in her honor.
