With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tanya Lofton-Pappillion, a beloved daughter,
sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, on May 2, 2025. Tanya was born on May 20, 1969, in
East Meadow, New York. She was the cherished daughter of Marie Lofton and the late Jasper
Lofton.
Tanya is survived by her loving mother, Marie Lofton, and her devoted husband, Rico
Pappillion. She is also survived by her siblings: Marion Lofton, Jimmy Lofton-Thomas,
Yvonne Renee Wilson, Jackie Lofton and Ivy Gross.
She leaves behind a large extended family who loved her dearly, including her aunts and
uncles: Stella and George Ealy, Esther Ford-Gilbert, James Ford, Rosa Stevenson, Betty Wylie,
Catherine Cleveland, Jack Lofton, and David Lofton.
Tanya will be deeply missed by her cousins Denisha Hill and Devina Ford, her nieces Shatoya
Shanay Lisman, Raynisha Davis and Briana Lofton; her nephews Raquan Little-Gavins and
Christoper Nelson. She also leaves behind her great nieces Rey'Mya "Muf in" Brown,
Temperance Little-Gavins, Leilani Davis, Z'yanie Hayes and Rey'Elle "Patty Cake" Brown; her
great nephews Omaria Baltazar, Honest Lapsley and a host of other nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
She was preceded in death by her aunts Denise Ford-Gavins, Ruth Lofton, and her uncle
Williams Gavins.
A Life Remembered
Tanya was known for her vibrant spirit, outgoing nature, and infectious laughter. She stood
out wherever she went and made an impression that lasted. She was baptized at Raymond
Hill Baptist Church in Snellville, Georgia, and carried her faith throughout her life.
She was a lover of fashion, always dressed to impress, and full of style and conidence. Tanya
loved her family deeply-especially her beloved mother-and she held a special,
unbreakable bond with her cousin Devina Ford, with whom she spoke every single day.
Tanya was a force of nature-bold, loving, radiant, and unforgettable.
A Lasting Legacy
Although our hearts are heavy in her absence, we ind comfort in knowing that Tanya's spirit
lives on in each of us. We celebrate her life and are grateful for the time we were blessed to
share with her. Her memory will forever be cherished.
Rest in peace, dear Tanya.
You have fought the good ight, inished the race, and kept the faith.
You will live in our hearts forever.
