Tanya Ann Sheldon, a beloved figure in the lives of many, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on January 9, 1951, in York, Pennsylvania, Tanya dedicated her life to caring for others and sharing her love for God.
Tanya was known for her nurturing spirit, which was evident in the way she took care of those around her. Whether through a kind word or a supportive gesture, her dedication to family and friends left a lasting impact on many. Her mornings began with cherished devotions, a time she held dear as she sought to connect with her faith and spread warmth to all who crossed her path.
A woman of strong opinions and vigorous convictions, Tanya never hesitated to voice her thoughts, often encouraging others to stand up for what they believed in as well. She took immense joy in cleaning, finding satisfaction in creating a welcoming environment for family and friends.
Tanya is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Richard Sowers and Phyllis (Sweitzer) & husband Clifford George; her grandparents.
Tanya is survived by her husband of almost 54 years, Richard Sheldon; children, Richard Paul Sheldon, Jenny Hartman and husband Chris, Elizabeth Smith, Sarah Sheldon; grandchildren, Corwin Sheldon, Hannah and Julian Chillinsky, Hunter and Mel Carlson, Philip Sheldon, Madelyn Hartman; great-grandchildren, Hazel, Saige, Wesley; siblings, Tom Sowers and wife Penny, Terry Sowers and wife Donna and numerous nieces, nephews and loving family members.
Tanya's legacy is that of a devoted caregiver and a faithful servant of God, who loved sharing His love with others. Her presence will be profoundly missed, and her spirit will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
