Taripar Panjaitan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fontana Mortuary - Fontana on Mar. 31, 2026.
Taripar Panjaitan, a devoted family man, skilled mechanic, and kind soul, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, in California. Born on March 7, 1950, in Indonesia, Taripar's life was marked by a deep passion for automotive engineering and a warm spirit that touched all who knew him.

From an early age, Taripar showed a keen interest in mechanics, which led him to complete his high school education majoring in mechanical engineering. His commitment to his craft was further solidified when he completed an automobile course at the Technical and Management Institute of Gottlieb Daimler in 1971. Over the years, he dedicated his career to working as a mechanic at various automobile shops in his community, where his expertise was unmatched and his commitment to quality unwavering. Those who brought their cars to Taripar never had to worry about repairs, his skills gave them peace of mind.

Taripar was known not only for his technical abilities but also for his exceptional character. He had a great sense of humor that could brighten any room and was remarkably kind and easygoing. His presence brought comfort and joy, characteristics that endeared him deeply to family and friends alike.

One of Taripar's greatest sources of happiness came from spending time with his beloved wife,Tumiur Siregar, and their children and grandchildren. Together with Tumiur,he made the brave journey from Indonesia to the United States, building a new life filled with love and accomplishment. His pride swelled seeing his five children grow, marry, and give him the joy of grandchildren, a legacy that promises to carry his memory forward for generations.

His passion extended beyond the garage, Taripar enjoyed fishing, a pastime that offered him peace and reflection away from the hum of engines and the clatter of tools. His dedication to both his trade and his family was a testament to the balance he nurtured throughout his life.

Taripar is survived by his cherished wife, Tumiur Siregar; his sons Agus Panjaitan and daughter-in-law Dollar Panjaitan, and Kris Panjaitan with his wife Grace; his daughter Puji Tamba and son-in-law Guntur; and Jerry Panjaitan and his wife Maya; as well as Randi Tampubolon and his wife Ervina, all of whom carry forward his spirit and values.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Konstan and Tiolina Panjaitan, and his sister Sonti Sihombing, whose memories he held close and who remain part of his enduring story.

Taripar's life was one of quiet strength, expertise, and boundless love. The most Bible verse he always mentioned was found in Psalm 23:1. This verse tells him that the Lord is his shepherd that will protect, guide and he shall not lack anything. His legacy is etched not only in the repairs and vehicles that bore the mark of his skill but most importantly in the hearts of his family. Though he has departed this world, the laughter, kindness, and unwavering dedication he embodied will forever resonate with all who were fortunate to know him.

He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and dearly loved.
