Techla was born on July 10, 1967, in Flint, Michigan, to the late James and Penelope (Sampson) Szewczyk. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the Class of 1985. On July 8, 1992, Techla married her high school sweetheart, Jeffrey Pashby. Together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. For 14 years, she worked in shipping at Universal Tube and was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Techla found joy in life's simple pleasures, loved playing bingo and taking trips to the casino. She also loved her time at home - making it warm and welcoming, and watching the hummingbirds outside her window. Known for her humor and honest, no-nonsense way of saying things, Techla could always make others laugh and feel at ease. Above all, her heart belonged to her family. She adored her husband, Jeff, and their daughter, Cassie - they were her world and greatest source of happiness.
Surviving are: Loving husband, Jeffrey Pashby; Sister, Marie (Darrell) Bigbee; Sisters in law: Cheryl Stover, Pamela Frishcosy, and Rebecca (Steve) Elliott; Brother in law, Darwin (Mitzi) Pashby; Special friend, Nancy; Several loving nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends. Techla was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Cassie Pashby in 2015; Brother, Anthony Szewczyk, and her dog, Sampson, a faithful companion who was always by her side through tough times.
