Ted Bisping

Ted Bisping was born on April 23, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Paul and Marie (Graf) Bisping. He was a gifted student and loved learning throughout his life. During Junior High, Ted attended the Stewart School on the University of Utah Campus, which he treasured because he could study and check out books at the University of Utah Library and get a slice of pizza from Bimbos (now The Pie).
During high school, he attended East High School, playing tackle for the football team. He would later follow in his father's footsteps to enroll at the University of Utah, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. He married Barbara Purdue (later divorced) and together they raised two children and multiple Yorkshire terriers. Ted spent his entire career working in various positions at Utah Power and Light (now PacifiCorp).
Ted was an active community member, devoting his time to the West Valley Kiwanis Club, Boy Scouts of America, and the American Red Cross (volunteering for over 35 years teaching CPR classes amongst many other things).
The neighborhood block party gatherings were always a hit and Ted was constantly at the center of the fun. He enjoyed the outdoors and would pack up the family to join the neighbors for many weekend camping trips across East Canyon, Vernal, and the Uintas just to name a few. An avid Utah Utes and NASCAR fan, it was rare to see Ted without a red sweatshirt, hoodie, or hat in support of his alma mater or a NASCAR hat or t-shirt. He was a constant tinkerer of household projects and a collector of model trains.
Ted is survived by his children, Greg and Lorianne, grandchildren, Elisabeth and Miriam, ex-wife Barbara Revene, siblings Chris (Bryan), Sarah, Peter (Becky), and Paula (Jack). He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
A public viewing will be held the evening of Friday, February 9th from 6-8 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, Ted's family has requested donations to the Utah chapter of The American Red Cross.
