Loomis Family Funeral Home - ApopkaTed Eugene Mitchell, lovingly known as “Teddy,” passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Zellwood, Florida, at the age of 58.
Ted was born on March 4, 1967, in Akron, Ohio. He spent his early years there before moving to Florida at the age of 14. He attended Lake Mary High School and went on to build a career in logistics, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
More than anything, Ted was a family man. His greatest joy in life was spending time with the people he loved. Weekends often meant firing up the grill, sharing good food, playing music, and enjoying laughter with family and friends. Ted had a great sense of humor and a way of making everyone feel welcome. If you were around him, you were sure to eat well and leave with a smile. He worked hard to make sure his children always had what they needed and never went without.
Ted is preceded in death by his father, Theodore Mitchell, and his brother, Guy Mitchell.
He is survived by his loving wife, April Mitchell; his mother, Catherine Mitchell; his brother, Coy Mitchell; his children, TJ Mitchell (Jackie), Heather Mitchell, and Cassidy Mitchell/Conrad (Riley); and his cherished grandchildren, Summer, Mitchell, Kylee, Levi, Jacob, and Austin.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Jodi Arrowsmith (Jon); nieces and nephews DJ, Anabelle, Johnny, and Autumn; along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members in Ohio who held a very special place in his heart.
Ted’s love for his family was unwavering. They meant everything to him, and he meant everything to them. His memory will live on in the laughter he shared, the meals he cooked, the music he loved, and the countless memories made with those he cared for most.
A memorial service celebrating Ted’s life will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Renewal Church, located at 4407 W Orange Blossom Trail, Apopka, Florida 32712. For those unable to attend in person, an online link for the service will be available.
