Ted Dalton Owens, age 91, widower of Eunice Owens, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his son’s home in Lancaster, Kentucky. He was born in Jessamine County, Kentucky, on June 17, 1934, to Thomas Owens and Minerva Land Owens. Ted retired from the Kentucky American Water Company and was a United States Army veteran who served in Korea. He is survived by two children: a son, Ted Owens, and his wife, Tammie; and a daughter, Lora McKnight. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Thomas Owens, Ted Land, and Megan Rowe, four great-grandchildren: William Rowe, Keegan McKnight, Paisley Rowe, and George Slaughter, Jr. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ted Daniel Owens, two brothers, John Owens and Warren Owens, and two sisters, Pearl Collins and Rayetta Bray. Funeral services will be held at 10AM Friday, September 26, 2025, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Puckett officiating. The burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be Thomas Owens, Ted Land, Mike Collins, Jerry Collins, Bob Collins, and Jimmy Collins. Honorary bearers will be Tim Steagall, Rick Lowery, Obra Collins, Jr., Tom Collins, Harry Barron, Jr., and David Hughes. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the funeral home. Betts & West Funeral Home is honored to serve the Owens family in their time of need.
