Ted Vickery Jr went to be with Jesus on January 31 2026 . He was born to Ted Vickery Sr and Josephine (Woods) Vickery on July 19 1942. He was the youngest of five children . He was a graduate of Portal High School and served several years in the Army/ National Guard. He worked for several years at both J.P. Steven's and Cooper Wiss as a supervisor. He was contracted by Bulloch Telephone in 1982 to clean and mow the many central office buildings scattered around the county. He enjoyed this job very much as it allowed him to be outside. He had to stop in 2016 due to health reasons. He always farmed some too and hated to sell the cows he loved in 2022 . He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist for 50 years and a deacon for 38 . He also taught Sunday School. He was an avid reader for as long as his eyesight allowed. He was a very generous man with whatever he had, and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents and all four siblings ( Thurman, Cebron, and Ronald Vickery and Ernestine Stewart.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Annette Skinner, his daughter Dawn (Greg) Finch, son Tim Vickery (Alicia). Grandchildren, Ellie (Garrett) Hodges, Jessie Finch, Bailey and Braylen Vickery. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Waylon and Wesley Hodges, his brother and sister in law, Jack and Joan Skinner, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 3rd at 11:00 A.M. followed by a memorial service at 12:00. Rev. Thomas Hendrix will be officiating.
