Ted DeWayne Welch was born on August 15, 1958 in Garden Grove, California, the son of the late Robert Gurshion Welch and Jo Ann Shelby Sutton Jacobson.
On June 21, 2021, he was united in marriage to Sheree Martin, who survives.
For over 25 years, Ted owned and operated Welch's Shoe Repair in Savannah, Tennessee. In 2003, he moved to California and worked with his brother operating Welch Shoe Repair. He would later move to Lufkin, Texas and work as the manager of Angelina Shoe & Boot Repair. While living in Tennessee, Ted enjoyed arrowhead and rock hunting.
Ted DeWayne Welch departed this life on March 21, 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 66 years, 7 months, and 6 days.
He is survived by his wife, Sheree Welch of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; daughters, Trish Recher (Robert "Bob") of Hernando, Mississippi and Tiffany Welch of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sons, Andrew Welch (Samantha "Sami") of Southaven, Mississippi and Timothy Dass, Jr. (Brittany) of Apache Junction, Arizona; brother, Robert Michael "Mike" Welch (Connie) of Arizona; step mother, Linda Welch/Brown of Santa Ana, California; grandchildren, Nolan Recher, Magnolia Recher, Olivia Welch, Nathaniel Dass, and Jakob Dass; and close family friends, Keith and Pam Woods and their children, Tania Wesson and Chris Woods.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his brother, Richard A. Welch.
