Teddie Russell Thompson

Teddie Russell Thompson, age 73, of Seagrove, passed away on January 22, 2025, at his home.

Mr. Thompson was born on September 3, 1951, in Montgomery County to Theodore and Ruth Davis Thompson. He worked for many years in maintenance and as a supervisor at Springs Mill and later he went to work at the Goodyear wire plant until his retirement. He was a member of Bascom Chapel Global Methodist Church and he was also a member of the Biscoe Masonic Lodge 437, where he achieved the honor of a 32nd-degree Mason KKCH. Teddie served on the Westmoore Volunteer Fire Department where he also served on the Board of Directors. Teddie cherished his time spent fishing and enjoyed going on cruises.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Long Thompson of the home; brother-in-law Richard Long (Sandy) of Gastonia; niece LeShea Long of Gastonia; nephew Jeff Long of Gastonia, as well as great niece Kennedi Traynor of New York and great nephew Kordak Genovese of Gastonia.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Bascom Chapel Global Methodist Church, located at 543 Bascom Chapel Road, Robbins with Rev. Ron Scott officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Teddie's memory to Bascom Chapel Global Methodist Church at 2334 Dover Church Rd., Seagrove, NC 27341.
