Tera Ellise Cowan

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tera Ellise Cowan, who left this world on September 14, 2024, at the age of 39 in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on March 7, 1985, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Tera lived a life filled with love, compassion, and selflessness that touched everyone she met.
Tera graduated from Inola High School in Inola, OK, and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in business from Rogers State University. For several years, Tera worked with Farmers Insurance, where her kindness and empathetic nature shone through. She helped individuals through some of the toughest situations, always putting others first, both in her career and in life.
A natural people lover, Tera could light up a room with her conversation. She had the gift of making everyone feel special, listening without complaint, and extending her kindness wherever she went. She believed in taking care of those around her and always prioritized the needs of others before her own. Her friends and family were at the heart of everything she did.
An avid reader, Tera found joy in losing herself in the pages of a good book, often reading for hours at a time. She was also deeply involved in her community, attending church regularly and always cherishing her time spent with others. Perhaps her greatest joy came from being a devoted mother, always present at her daughters' sporting events and nurturing her young family with unwavering love.
Tera is survived by her loving husband, Justin Cowan; her cherished daughters, Ryleigh Cowan, age 15, and newborn Emersyn Cowan, born just ten days before Tera's passing on September 4, 2024. She is also survived by her parents, Lance and Sherry Davis; her brother, Tomas Davis; her sister, Jennifer Davis; her beloved grandmother, Janell Yarbrough; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, who all adored her.
Tera's warmth, love, and generous spirit will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness that will forever be remembered.
