Terence Conway, 66, passed away September 28, 2023, surrounded by his many loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife, Christine; daughters Erin (Keaton) Lederman, Haley (Chris) Brust, and Caitlin Conway (Ben Prendergast); granddaughter Mia; brother Timothy (Cheryl Ridgley) Conway and sister Kathleen (Steve) Neufeld; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Joan Conway, and brother Michael Conway.
Throughout his life, Terry made a profound impact on the lives of many, especially through the relationships he fostered in his nearly 50-year career as a golf course superintendent at the University Club (formerly Tripoli Country Club), where his expertise, dedication, and unwavering work ethic earned the respect and admiration from colleagues and members alike.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Terry was a devoted family member and friend. No matter how tired he was or how many long hours he had worked, he was always willing to give more to help a loved one in need. He unconditionally loved and supported his family in his many roles as a spouse, parent, grandparent, and sibling.
Terry had a zest for life and embraced a multitude of interests. He enjoyed and was often inspired by music, had a deep curiosity of life's unknowns, loved to engage in robust debate and challenge with people on many topics, and of course, he had the gift of gab. He had the ability to talk to anyone and everyone and to bring people together. His selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, and he will forever be loved and deeply missed by many.
Visitation 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM, on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Krause Funeral Home, 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A "Celebration of Life" will then take place from 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM at the University Club of Milwaukee (Golf course Location), 7401 North 43rd Street, in Milwaukee.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the University Club of Milwaukee scholarship program.

Terry was an extremely nice guy. He loved taking care of things at Tripoli & dedicated his professional life to that. For that, all of us former & current members will always be indebted. Can only imagine that his personal life was the same, on steroids! Our condolences to the family & RIP Terry. It was great knowing you!

I will always remember, appreciate and admire Terry for his passion, work ethic, honesty, humor, humility and love of his family. Tripoli/University Club was very lucky to have Terry as its course superintendent for so many years because he took great pride in his craft and was deeply committed to ensuring that the golf course was in exceptional condition. He was greatly respected in the golf community for his accomplishments. Terry will be hugely missed by those who knew him and worked with him. My father said that Terry was like another son to him.

Terry, you made my dear friend, Chris so very happy. Chris' face always lights up when she talks about you and your family. I was once told that you creatively told Chris you were meant to be together. So very true. Chris, Erin, Caitlin, Haley, sweet Mia and the entire Conway and Smith family, my heart aches for you all. I am so sorry for your loss and keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Deb Croatt

On behalf of the Marquette University Golf team, we send our condolences to Terry´s family. Our team is so very fortunate to have the U Club as our home course. So much of that experience has been first class because of Terry´s passion for his craft and outgoing personality, always greeting us with a smile and servant heart. Terry, thanks for making this world a better place!

My brother in law but more importantly my friend loved the sports watching with you and fish boils and bike riding. You were the only one who put up with my complaining how long the bike rides were. You made me laugh a lot and you laughed at my silly jokes. Always looked forward to events when I knew you were going to be there loved the July 4th get together. It was an honor to know you until our spirits cross paths again two words GENTLE SOUL. You will always be in my memories Terry. Love Barb Smith

Taken on the deck in Fish Creek. You had just returned from Ireland and shared so many stories and memories from that vacation. I´m so happy you did that trip and had that time together. He was so happy and we were clearly enjoying a cold one! Raising a glass to you Terry
